Just about every mix of two tunes together was very fortuitous, serendipitous etc., less to do with previous knowledge and skill - including one which could be considered extremely disrespectful to a great man... maybe... the sounds were intentional, the significance you can glean for yourself because it just came about the way it sounds.
I'll be DJing on April 4th. This was to grease the wheels.
(There's a way forth... somewhere...)

it's nothing if not eclectic. good luck with the set.
Sounnnnnnd.
I said 'Sounnnnnnd' before, but in truth, that was a cop out.
"It's nothing if..." is never a compliment.
It requires a certain amount of consideration [a lot] and (some) cycling to realise that. [I was cycling to work when I realised but I've since let the realisation slip.]
No matter (for the moment).
The term 'eclectic' to me (and maybe I'm being overly anal and subjective) is a 'bad' word. It's a fucking terrible horrendous and horrible term for (in relation to dj mixes at the very least) a mish mash; a random plethora of genre; a lucky bag of "throw it in and call it 'eclectic'; it'll do"....
It's nothing if not that?!
Listen to this mix and please agree it is everything and eclectic!
Maybe it's not heavy as fuck to you. Maybe you didn't listen. Maybe you didn't over analyse the shit out of it... but... 'eclectic' is seriously the very last thing this mix is.
['eclectic' doesn't even look like a real word!]
P.S. All stress and silly silly precious preciousness aside, all it is is a bunch of four or five genre specific somewhat linked mini-mixes sellotaped together by cardboard boxes filled with vinyls and limited time to choose and resulting in the assassination of a King.(.. but maybe you missed that.)
Maybe not "stress and silly silly precious preciousness aside" after all.
They aren't just tunes.
Look up MLK.
Loop up April 4th.
Peace.
